Final Missions Conference

Our last missions conference of deputation was in Selmer, Tennessee at Faith Baptist Church. I am always impressed by the work that churches invest in missions conferences, from scheduling, to speakers and food, and even the care put into decorations. I appreciate how kind the people are and it is a blessing getting to meet them.

Back to Harvest Baptist Church!

After 25 months of constantly being on the road, with maybe only a couple weeks here and there that we were without a meeting, we were excited to finally be getting a break in a way. Pastor McClain asked that we come back to our sending church for a month before heading to Papua New Guinea, so we began the trip from Tennessee to Pennsylvania.

While at Harvest we have been busy. Melissa completed her music album “You Arose” which should be available on streaming platforms by the time you read this. The kids enjoyed homeschool activities and time with their grandma and cousins. We all had great times of fellowship with the people of the church.

I did a lot of Bible study this month. Specifically, I made and took my family through what we called a “Mini Bible Institute.” It was several lessons starting with Soteriology, through Dispensations and other technical studies, and ending with a lesson on Calvinism. I asked them all before we started what they wanted to learn and from there designed a course for them all. I also put together most of an 18 part sermon series on Jesus and several other sermons as well. I did visitation, Pastor McClain had me preach once, and I also worked on the RV a little. It was busy month, but also a refreshing change of pace.

Driving to Idaho

We are off to Idaho! We have two hubs: our ministry hub in Pennsylvania where our sending church is, and our Idaho Grandma hub where our kids will start their lives as adults. I know, it gets confusing because there is a Pennsylvania Grandma as well. In Idaho we will be storing some of our RV supplies and also preparing things for Lily and Charlotte to be starting their adult lives while they live with their grandma. Thank you for always praying for our safety as we drive, especially as we cross more windy or mountainous areas of the country!

Two More Meetings!

We have one more meeting scheduled in Idaho before we leave for PNG. Lord willing we will be at South Valley Baptist Church on the morning of November 8th! SVBC was kind enough to take us on for support before we even presented; we are very excited to meet them and fellowship. The next meeting we have after that is in South Korea! That will obviously be on the way to PNG; a missionary has graciously allowed us to present at his church!

Please pray for us that our visas come in soon. Once we get them, we can pretty much leave. Thank you always for your prayers for us and for your kindness to my family and I.

In Christ,

Rick Schworer
