Safety on the road to Texas!

Prayer Request Roundup

Thank you so much for all your prayers! I wanted to prioritize letting you know where we are on some things in this prayer letter. First off, we have a full schedule all the way to the end of March! That is an answer to prayer – two months in Texas and three in Florida! We are praying that we will have enough support to leave for PNG in May, but if not that is fine as it is all in His hands. We visited many churches over the summer and encouraged that we have now started hearing back from them, as now through the end of the year is when so many are deciding if they can take us on.

Regarding Lily’s time with us in PNG, that is still undecided, but it looks as though she will only be able to be with us for a couple months. After that she will go back to the States and begin her life as an adult living with her Grandma. My amazing wife does a great job homeschooling and preparing the kids to be able to live independently, and Lily is already doing schooling for a career that will help her do just that. Lily would prefer to go to PNG for longer than two months, but is prepared ahead of time for whichever way it winds up. Please continue to keep her and us in prayer concerning that.

Have I ever mentioned that I really love my mission board? They are amazing and do so much to coach, help, and love on their missionaries without replacing the authority and place of the local church. One of the ministries that All Points Baptist Mission provides is the Heirloom Seed Project, in which they focus on the kids of missionaries, pastors, chaplains, and evangelists. I asked you to pray for our teens as they went to their camp last month. It was a major success. Our kids had a wonderful time, made a lot of friends, and it’s very clear that sermons – that were tailored for ministry kids – really impacted and touched their hearts. Thank you caring about our kids and praying for them!

Lastly we have asked that you pray about where specifically in PNG we would go. We are leaning towards Madang at this time. We’ve been in communication with multiple missionaries and national pastors and see the need is great there, and that it could be a good long-term fit for us. It is on the coast, which means it has more ready access to protein (to help keep Melissa’s migraines away), they speak Tok Pisin (which I know and believe the Lord wants me to use), they are open to the gospel, and it is one of the safer places to take a family. As any Christian knows, God sometimes changes plans when we least expect it so we are open to going somewhere else if the Lord leads, but currently that is where we have our sights set. Thank you for your continued prayer in this area!

Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Georgia, and even Mississippi!

Wow, we were all over the place this month! Logistically, it was a complete mess. Typically, you try and drive 2-5 hours for a meeting, not 12! But this is how it worked out in September of 2025, which was a catch-all month before our big trip to Texas, and what a blessing those meetings were and definitely more than worth the drive! My heart’s desire is that we can be the blessing to them that they are to us. I’ve said before, if I wrote about each church in detail and the blessing we had with them I could easily fill multiple pages – so I must be super brief! A fantastic missions conference in Crossville TN, and two other meetings in that same wonderful little big town as well! I got to see my old church from my teenage years in Fort Oglethorpe GA. Greenville SC is amazing! Brainstorming Institute ideas with Pastor Wilson in Picayune, MS was very helpful! And having a prayer breakfast with the men and seeing God move in a special way in Pilot Mountain NC is something I’ll remember for a long time. I’m out of room! Please pray for our safety as we drive to Texas!

Thank you for your kindness and prayers,
