Praises:

Glad to be back on deputation!

Prayer Requests:

Safety on the road and upcoming All Points Missionary and Chaplain Training (AMCT) Conference

Finishing up in the Golden State

Our last day of meetings in California was a good one, and my hat goes off to Pastor Benefield for the schedule he keeps every Sunday pastoring two churches! We had Sunday school and main service in Modesto, then drove to the church in Patterson and did it there too. Then we drove back to Modesto for an evening service! It was really a blessed time being in both churches and meeting all the kind people.

Oregon Coast and Driving Sickness

Having never seen the Oregon Coast, we thought we’d drive up it on the way to Idaho for my daughter Kiera’s wedding. It was beautiful! Massive jagged rocks protruding out of the ocean, waves crashing, a beautiful sandy beach, and pine trees not far in the distance all in one place! So beautiful we just had to stop a few times! We also had to stop a few times because some people threw up from the windy road, but that’s another story.

Seeing Friends, Family, and West Valley Baptist Church

We were in the Treasure Valley area for about 2 ½ weeks and had a wonderful time. It was so good to see friends that we hadn’t seen for about a year. While it had been a year, the sense of kinship and familiarity we had with our dear friends made it feel like it was only yesterday that we left to go on this grand adventure. There are times in life where you wish there were more than 24 hours in a day so you can get more done, but in Idaho we wished there were more time in a day so we could spend it with the people we love.

While there I also spent a week getting things done on the motorhome, Melissa and I managed to get away for a couple days for our anniversary, we did wedding things, and in the middle of all of that we were able to have a meeting at West Valley Baptist Church in Nampa. Wow! What a great church! Pastor Pyle is truly a kind and loving pastor in the way he reaches out and mentors the people in his church. It was good to see old friends there as well and make new ones. It was evident in the preaching and spirit of the church that they love missions, the Bible, and each other.

My Kiera Girl Got Married!

I am so thankful that God gave me such a wonderful daughter in Kiera. I could gush the entire prayer letter about her but I will spare you by only gushing a little. She has excelled in so many things in life and yet I don’t ever remember in her a sense of pride and arrogance, she’s always just said “I’m not smart I just work really hard.” Truth is, she’s both. She has a sweet spirit, and as she puts it, “when someone hugs me, I never let go. I wait for them to let go first.”

We are so happy for them, and it is such a blessing knowing she’s taken care of as we start what may be the last part of deputation. Please pray for our safety and the upcoming All Points conference for missionaries and chaplains, that it would go well and that God would continue to lead in the hearts of men and women.

Thank you,

Rick Schworer
